PPG national color, design manager to share insight on trending hues for shed coatings

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - Novermber 1, 2021 -- PPG (NYSE:PPG) today announced it will highlight its new PPG Aquacron® color palette for sheds, playhouses, gardens and backyard studios at the 2021 Garage, Shed & Carport Builder Show in South Bend, Indiana, Nov. 4-5.

The new coatings collection reflects today’s consumer preferences for color while embracing the emerging role color plays in the consumer decision-making process.

“The manner in which sheds and portable buildings are being used has changed over recent years,” said Ruthanne Hanlon, PPG national color and design manager. “Along with this change, consumers have expressed a growing interest in having the color of their sheds or portable building correlate with their purpose and also work with the color schemes of their homes.”

Visitors to this year’s Garage, Shed & Carport Builder Show will have an opportunity to learn how color can serve as an effective selling tool during Hanlon’s presentation titled “Color Trends for the Shed Industry” at 2pm on Nov. 4.

“In the past, shed and portable building manufacturers often considered color as an afterthought,” said Hanlon. “This is in direct contrast with the reality that consumers will often make a purchase decision based on color selection and availability. For this reason, we used input from shed builders and their customers to create our new color palette. Ultimately, this collection will help builders eliminate the guesswork when it comes to consumer color preferences.”
